[ She responds in a hushed tone, ] That was the plan, if you're interested. I can tell you more in that dark, nondescript alley were talking about earlier once we get out of here.

[ His smile in return is bright. ]

[ And with that, she finishes the last drops of her drink, sets her glass down onto the bar, and slips out of her seat. ]

Then let's take a walk, shall we, Star-Lord?

[ He does the same, bowing to her with a flourish of his hand and offering his elbow. ]

[ She offers him a pleased little hum, tilting her head as she takes his arm with hers and whispering as they walk, ]

[ He just grins in return. ]

[ He directs them into a nearby alley, and after a cursory inspection, it seems deserted. ]

This dark and nondescript enough for you?

[ She lets go of his arm as she steps into the darkness of the alley, leaning against the wall and folding her arms. ]

So. I know you weren't exactly excited about the soiree last time, but I'm afraid you've been invited to yet another one. You'll have a plus-one this time, though.

[ He follows after, claiming his spot at the wall opposite her. ]

Hoping by "plus one" you mean you, and that this isn't just your way of setting me up on a blind date.

[ She chuckles under her breath. ]

No blind dates this time, no. [ Seeing as the last heist may as well have involved one, what with the way she tasked Peter with charming Amira. ] I figured you wouldn't mind touting me around on your arm.

[ He grins then gestures to his own face with a wave of his hand. ]

Veil or no veil, Goto?

What if I said no veil?

[ She's done a bang-up job of concealing her identity, after all, so no one would recognize her if she went without her veil. But you know, she's not sure if Peter's ready for no veil. What if he gets too distracted? ]

I'd say sign me up. I mean, there's gotta be, like, two people in the whole world who know what the elusive Kasumi Goto looks like, right?

[ Even in the darkness of the alley, the wickedness in her expression is undeniable. ]

[ She looks up at him, and her hand goes up, her fingers tracing the bottom of her lip in a playful but beckoning gesture. ]
