[ She smiles, and she reaches for his hand as he touches her cheek, fingers seeking his.
They've been through a lot. A hell of a lot. Between the rocky start they had, with Kasumi pulling her disappearing act, to them finally owning up to their feelings that rainy day in those ruins, both of them finally deciding to open up, letting their hearts speak over their minds for once (Peter for the first time, as Kasumi did so despite thinking that she would never again after Keiji), to all the little things--stolen glances in the middle of heists, warm smiles, blanket forts, nights spent just talking, listening to music, pet names--and then having all that ripped away when Peter was taken by the Ravagers, to the aftermath of that, to Kasumi telling him just how much he meant to her, to finally hearing him say those words back fresh out of a firefight, to celebrating his birthday, to just being together... their time together has been filled with ups and downs. There's no denying that.
But Kasumi wouldn't change any of it (except, maybe, the part with the Ravagers), and like Peter, she's damn grateful that they have chances now, to heal and get better, chances to do more after that. To take that vacation. To spending their lives together on the Milano with the rest of Peter's troupe--his family, and hers, too, it feels like. To dinner and dancing. To whatever else comes after a cataclysmic event. She knows not all of it will be pretty; this victory has come at an incredible cost, and Kasumi has probably lost at least one other person that she cares for, but that hardly matters so long as she still has Peter. ]
